Dear SG,,
The PPD should be more transparent... U should reveal the criteria/formula by which u calculate the PPD so that the fellow uploaders should have more understanding abt PPD and minimize the complaints abt PPD. Pls consider this sugession.. |

PPD is recalculated every 6 hours. It may so happen that sometimes your points do not change, but they do get recalculated.

X uploads 1 file. Y uploads 100 files. Makes no difference to PPD. Total points earned by Y may be more but the rate does not depend on number of files. X gets 1000 free downloads and Y gets 10000 free downloads, but neither of them gets a sale. Y will get more total points but once again, the rate will be same - minimum or 1 point per download. X and Y both get 1000 downloads each. X gets 1 sale but Y does not get any sale. Y remains at 1 point. X will get a higher PPD for next 5 days. Also, his PPD will not go down to 1 point for at least 20 days. X and Y both get 1 sale each of same value but X gets 1000 free downloads and Y gets 50000 free downloads. X will get a better PPD rate. Y will be above 1 point but still low. X and Y both get 1000 downloads and no sale, but X has 200 premium and 800 free downloads whereas Y has 10 premium and 990 free downloads. X will get better rate than Y. X will never get max rate (400 PPD) if he does not get sales, but he can go quite high if he maintains a healthy premium to free ratio. X uploads large files and Y uploads small files. Going by the formula, this will not affect the rate. But large files have a better chance of getting sales. Also, larger files get more premium and less free downloads. So X will usually get better rate than Y. In short, the logic goes something like this - A - Check the total sales of last 5 days and total free downloads of last 5 days. Calculate PPD. B - If the PPD is quite low, check the premium to free ratio. If the ratio is good, increase PPD. C - If the PPD is still <5, check total sales of last 20 days and adjust PPD. D - If PPD is still 1 and if there is at least one sale in last 20 days, make PPD 2 or 3. Hope it is clear now. |
