Dear EXBIIANS,
I realized that the exbii provides almost all sorts of help except for studies. So I am trying to fill d void. I am a banker, cracked some super easy(tough) exams and am open to help u guys for valid queries regarding preparation of written, GD & PI stuff. Now for Banks except RBI & SBI, there is some common exam as u r aware. But the funda remains d same for cracking the exams. But b4 we begin: I would like to tell u some pros and cons of Banker profile: Pros: 1. Good social recognititon (Varies as per states, but overall feel good factor). 2. Satisfactory remunerations (depends more on your qualifications, if you r out of IIMs , i dont know this will mean ne thing). 3. Job safe from economic ups and downs if u get into PSU Banks. 4. If u stay long term: Minimum of a good house and car is assured bcoz of cheap loans to staff. 5. Foreign postings if u r talented/ have jack. Cons: 1. Postings can be super tough e.g. in remotest of village( where girls can be seen only online). 2. your seniors can be annoying ( true for all jobs). 3, Very less time for family. 4. Frequent transfers. So if are ready lets start: ............ waiting for responses and queries.. |

Can you elaborate more about packages for freshers and growth in salary?I heard that an average software engineer will always earn more than a banker at any given age.Is it true?
Also Is it more recession proof as compared to IT jobs? Repped. |

1. If you are an engineer and u come from reputed college,u earn more.
The package in officer entry grade in PSU banks is 6+. If you join TCS from an average college you get almost same or even lesser. 2. If u consider job safety, it goes real good as PSUs never shed employees. In next 3 years there shall be huge need of officers. And in IT companies, its your chances and your colleagues performance when job security comes. The best way there is to jump b4 getting kicked. The growth is good and almost certain barring exceptions. All the MDs and chairmans started from entry as POs, but as obvious not all reach the same height. |

I would add that its more of safe game than an thriller roller coaster.
Though exceptions have been observed if you grasp from here and fly to real big posts elsewhere. |

I am not much aware of AXIS banks so called program, but have some of my friends in there.
Its said to be a good job but the recruitment is based on local tests and PIs. The package and remunerations shall be lesser than PSUs entry level. The profile you shall get is of real importance. If its a general banking, its not gr8 as in that the probability of you getting in some marketing division with cross selling targets is high. If you get a credit profile , it will be better as you will have good oppurtunity to jump out to bigger banks and with better learning. 2. Have some insight of ICICI thing: they send you to some 3rd party training college after taking your fees, and after the training is done, they take a test based on learning. If you pass you are in, if you fail you are out and your money gone. Again in Private banks like ICICI marketing is the major thrust. So if you are comfortable doing it, i dont think an engineer fails any tests. All d best. |

AFAIK Axis bank is giving an assured job of Asst Manager.I think preparing for PSUs common exam called IBPS will be a better option.
Now u are saying things about profile they put u in,thats completely out of my will right?Same can happen in PSUs also right? Thanks a lot for the info. |

Hmm profiles are everywhere but in PSUs the last window is marketing and even it u get it, you dont have to work like a sales man.
PSUs trust and repo do the job itself. It gets real easy. Yeah best option prepare for IBPS and give SBI PO as its not thru IBPS. |
