Problems like password reset and advice regarding not functioning of regular IT related problems of the branches.

Overall the profile is cool, at higher ranks of IT officer, you might even get a chance for foreign training (only for Bigger PSU Banks).

However, the growth is suspended after some time as the posts are very few and employees in the hierarchy are more.

But overall I rate at is a cool job.
growth is kind of shunted for an it officer .....

but the above observation of 6+ package included 20K rent however in some places u get rent as low as 3K or 5K. Not all get selected in SBI and not all get posted in Mumbai. So if u reduce 15K p.m (20K-5K) from the anuual package u get a drop of more than 1.5 lakhs. Besides in Metros u get higher allowances. So 6+ salary certainly cant be guiding factor to motivate the aspiring Bank POs. Because its a wrong picture.
Some where I read that " Officers ( except in Credit) dont deal with customers directly. " which is also inaccurate beacuse Officers (except in Credit) do deal directly with customers in a PSU Bank.
And then your latest observation also perplexes me that " government regulations every PSU bank employee has to do some mandatory assignments like Branch Manager and rural postings "
My dear friend are u trying to suggest that its mandatory to be a Branch Manager for an employee at any point of time in his career. Spare a thought for the Bank.
The rural posting is mandatory only for promotions and that too doesnt matter bcoz people gets promoted without doing any rural posting.

Other than these few observations u were good. Infact I am impressed.
But be careful next time bcoz papa is watching.

Well your point or rent is right,i said in metros+ all benefits taken in account.

In villages you get as low as 3-4k/month, but cmon man its a village.

About mandatory assignments , what i said was meant for people who want to take promotions.

Well yes, if you dont want to grow, take promotions nothing is mandatory and this sentence holds good for any PSU in india.

And except credit, i dont know where officers sit in the front desk, so no comments over this issue (holds true for PSU Banks, not much aware of private banks).

ANd thanks for being observant.

Chill...........
