Reliable or not, it is your choice, you ain't gonna off-road your bike, 75% of the people who got tubeless tyres never used GEL.

Anyways, Gel helps at the time of puncture, when ever the tyre gets a puncture, the Gel will cover the holes preventing it from further damage or going to a puncture shop for filling the hole.

Now you decide, whether how often you go to puncture shops or how often you got a puncture when you were riding a tubed tyre :O .., but 900 is not a big amount for your new bike. .., enjoy the ride, wear helmet

Puncture occurs if any sharp metal like a nail gets in the tyre. The air won't leave the Tyre quickly enough unless you pull out the object that has punctured it. Don't do that and take the vehicle to the nearest puncture shop and get the puncture fixed. As you would know, fixing the puncture in a tubeless Tyre is 5 minutes job.

Forget about gel and best of luck for the bike!

By the way, the golden rule is to never buy anything additional that a car or bike dealer sells you : what they sell is expensive than market and often not required at all.
