DirectX or OpenGL?
Many games ask you to select between DirectX and OpenGL when they start. Which of the two is the better choice on Windows (Windows 7 - 64 bit)?

Yes, I do have the latest versions of both. What I'm asking is what to select when the game asks you to choose one. When you start the game, before the real game begins, the option for selection between OpenGL and DirectX is presented - you need to select one even when you have both installed.
OpenGL is open and DirectX is Windows specific. Also DirectX is used in Microsoft Xbox games. Does that make DirectX a better choice on Windows? Last edited by Human 1024 : 28th June 2012 at 05:38 PM. |
