New Delhi Rly Stn to Karol Bagh is approx - 5 to 6 kms.
Palika Bazaar is good place if you want to bargain and not go for the branded showroom stuff. However be prepared to be mis-sold stuff as its not always that you might find original/good quality stuff there. Here is the website - http://www.palikabazaar.com/ The good thing is the Palika Bazaar is adjacent to Connaught Place, so if you don't find anything good there, then you can always shop around CP. |

@Zelster:
Distance between Railway station and Karol Bagh is not much. Take an auto. Will reach the place in about 40-50 bucks by meter. There are lots of hotels in and around Karol Bagh. Wont be cheap. If you really want cheap hotel for few days try staying near Railway Station. There are a few good ones there. You will understand when you see their condition. For clothes you can visit Karol Bagh, CP (Janpath, Palika Bazar). They are near the vicinity of Railway Station. You can get brands as well as bargained clothing options. |

Sarojini Nagar Market is good place to shop (and bargain) for clothes as well, however it is 11-12 kms from New Delhi Rly Stn.

Dear Friend, better stay at Karol bagh or Pahar ganj, suitable accomodation is available there, 500 to 1000 INR, Shajahan Road is nearby India Gate, UPSC is there, so no problem there, Karol Bagh would be a good place to buy clothes, Paalika isn't a good place to buy clothes, quality is cheap and cost is higher, if you stay at Karol Bagh or Paharganj ( both are adjacent) then ask an auto-rikshaw to take you there, 75-80 INR would be chargable, have a nice time here in New Delhi! |

At Cannaught Place, there's no accomodation in the cost of you questioned, 2000 to 3000 INR would be an avarage, not a good place to stay, from CP to Sarojini Nagar, an Auto would charge 150 INR not more than that, go Karol Bagh instead to buy clothes, and if you are interested in Booze then here's a plenty, lotta bars and shops! you may enjoy your booze at the hotel! Buy your booze from a Govt. Shop or from the L-52 Licensed shops! Last edited by rentme4nite : 15th July 2012 at 07:34 PM. |
