the banning is done depending upon the gravity of crime
repeated offenders are banned for life - like hunk. hunk was initially given a one month ban but as he did not improve after his unbanning and was given a permamnent ban. He again came back using 2 aliases and started the same old things which resulted in another pemamnent ban for his aliases.

If this continues, the final option left is an IP ban.

Making a House of Shame wud mean we are giving the miscreants importance in whatever form. I agree to disagree on Hall of Shame .

hypothecally if a member wants to correct himself he wud feel more ashamed to see his posts in the House of Shame.

Also there is a age old saying...highlight ur positive points without trying to hide ur weaknesses. Hall of Fame is the answer and not House of Shame

In some forums I exactly dont remember

there is a warning level bar which shows how much % warning has been given
once it reached 95% permanent ban has been done infact i saw that in same

vbulletin software so xb techy person can do that .It come on left handside of the window....

Infact that is good .Moderators give hunderd reasons for the ban if that warning level is there others also know warning has been issued that particular member..otherwise banned person comeback with different name starts critizing everytime..

when get to know which forums i saw that warning bar i will let u know here too

we know abt tht feature, but we are not implementing it anytime soon.

violations of rules like inline nudes, threads on politics, full bolly/holly movies etc. are given warnings and generally they refrain from a repeat. but however ppl who indulge in personal abuse and intentional harm to the board, are banned, becos we dont see any reason to tolerate such guys.

the display of warning levels in some cases may act as a false ego booster to some who feel they "live on the edge" and to others it may be an embarassment. we dont want either to embarass anyone or give false ego boosts to morons, so this feature has no use.

when there is 5%warning everyone rectifies the probs and they dont repeat it ..if there nothing warning n keep hiding they are motivated for repeated postings.

infact to reach 95%warning it takes longtime..


this feature is very good which track of member y warning has been issued also which moderator did that for what reason ....
