1. The Hunt

As the blood lust of the vampires of Los Angeles begins to take over, it is up to the Enforcer, Selim, to keep them under control, but his life and the life of Siri, his mortal love, are threatened by a would-be betrayer who is out to violate his community's most sacred law.

2. Partners

Seattle has become a supernatural hunting ground. Enforcer Char MCairn is on the prowl for a young renegade vampire. 3. Companions

4. Deception

The vampire Olympias has longed reigned as the Enforcer of Washington, D.C. Over the years, she has made many enemies-yet none have dared to challenge her authority...until now.

5. Heroes

01 A Quick Bite
(The first book in the Argeneau Family series)

That hot guy tied to
Lissianna Argeneau's bed?
He's not dessert -- he's the
main course!

Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood ... an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly -- once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into ... if he can just get Lissianna to bite

02 Love Bites
(The second book in the Argeneau Family series)

Publisher's Weekly
A prequel of sorts to Sands's paranormal comedy, Single White Vampire, this lightweight romantic romp shoots for the easy laugh and often misses. The allure of vampires lies in their strength and seeming invulnerability, but Etienne Argeneau, this book's bloodsucking hero, is curiously incompetent when it comes to dispatching a crazed mortal named Pudge who's intent on lopping his head off. Twice, Pudge manages to injure Etienne to the point where he ends up in the morgue under coroner Rachel Garrett's care. But when Rachel gets in the way of attempt number three, Etienne rescues her in the only way he knows how-by turning her into a vampire. The story moves from mildly amusing to ridiculous when Rachel, in denial, insists that she's merely having a "wet dream" involving a sexy man who thinks he's a vampire. There's little tension between Etienne and Rachel, sexual or otherwise. Instead, Sands stretches the plot with conflicts stemming from minor misunderstandings. Her attempts at hip dialogue also fall flat (at one point, a 200-year-old vampire compliments Rachel by saying, "You're a happening chick, dudette!"). Those who enjoyed Sands's previous paranormal comedy of errors may eke a little enjoyment from these pages, but this isn't something vampire fans will want to sink their teeth into.

03 Single White Vampire
(The third book in the Argeneau Family series)

Publisher's Weekly
Readers weary of the tortured, brooding, all-too-serious vampires that often populate paranormal romance novels will appreciate Sands's (The Loving Daylights, etc.) cheeky, madcap tale about an immortal who finds eternal happiness with his editor. Reclusive Lucern Argeneau, a family biographer who has been classified as a paranormal romance author, is stunned when Kate C. Leever, his new editor at Roundhouse Publishing (read: Dorchester), shows up on his doorstep demanding he make a public appearance to appease his fans. After some urging from the beguiling Kate, he agrees to go to the Romantic Times convention, little knowing that he'll have to contend with adoring fans and a week full of parties and signings. Some of the plot twists verge on the absurd-such as when Luc's codpiece sticks to a tablecloth at a Renaissance ball, or when Kate fells an attacker with a pillow-and Kate's reluctance to admit her feelings for Luc because she assumes she's "just supper" to him is aggravating. Still, vampire lovers will find themselves laughing throughout. (Sept.) Forecast: This is the first in a series of comic "bloodsucker stories" from Love Spell. Though the title alone will pique readers' curiosity, the book will receive an additional boost at the Romantic Times national convention, where Love Spell will promote the series with a paranormal launch party. 04 A Bite to Remember
(The fifth book in the Argeneau Family series)

Rule #1: Never get involved with someone who won't be there for you when the sun comes up.

Once bitten, twice shy, and sexy PI Jackie Morrisey wasn't going there again. Vincent Argeneau may be the hottest guy she's ever met, living or dead, but she's here to stop a killer from turning this vampire into dust, not to jump into bed with him.

Rule #2: Never kiss a vampire . . . it can be a pain in the neck.

Okay, so Vincent's had four hundred years to perfect his kissing skills, and he does look rather tempting when he runs around the house shirtless. He's also charming, protective . . . did we mention he can kiss? Jackie needs to be on her guard, or else she'll have to come up with a new rule: If you're going to fall in love with a vampire, make sure it's a bite to remember.

Immortal: Love Stories With Bite

In Immortal: Love Stories With Bite, edited by New York Times bestselling author of the House of Night series P.C. Cast, seven of today’s most popular YA vampire and contemporary fantasy authors offer new short stories that prove when you’re immortal, true love really is forever.

Rachel Caine (the Morganville Vampires series) revisits the setting of her popular series, where the vampires are in charge and love is a risky endeavor, even when it comes to your own family

Cynthia Leitich Smith (Tantalize) gives us a love triangle between a vampire, a ghost and a human girl, in which none of them are who or what they seem

Claudia Gray (Evernight) takes us into the world of her Evernight series, in which a pre–Civil War courtesan-to-be is courted by a pale, fair-haired man whose attentions are too dangerous to spurn, in more ways than one

Richelle Mead (the Vampire Academy series) brings us the tale of a young vampire on the run from the rest of her kind, and the human boy who provides the getaway car, as well as a reason to keep running

Nancy Holder (the Wicked series, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) immerses us in a post-apocalyptic New York where two best friends are forced to make a choice that may kill them both

Kristin Cast (the House of Night series) introduces us to a new kind of vampire: one with roots in Greek mythology, and the power to alter space and time to save the girl he's meant to love

Rachel Vincent (the Soul Screamers series) explores a new corner of her series with the story of a leanan sidhe capable of inspiring the musician she loves to new creative heights, or draining him, and his talent, dry

And Tanith Lee (Black Unicorn) shows us what happens when a bright young woman with some supernatural savvy encounters a misguided (but gorgeous) young vampire

Tai Chi is a form of “moving meditation” for the body, mind and spirit. This manual introduces the short yang form in a structured learning programme. It is divided into eight lessons with warm-up exercises which develop the movements required to perform the eight-minute “dance”.
From the Author
The nature of tai chi. What this books tries to achieve.
Tai chi is a slow graceful sequence of movements, with its origins in ancient China. it combines slow, graceful movements with calm, regular breathing and is the perfect antidote to a stressful modern life. Today it is practiced the world over by people from all walks of life and is fast becoming one of the most popular forms of fitness training and recreation. The Tai Chi Manual is my second book on the subject, and is ideal for beginners and advanced students alike. Reflecting my own interests in oriental medicine and culture, the approach taken here is to encourage interest in the health and relaxation aspects of tai chi. You will find chapters on health and fitness, therefore, along with information on how tai chi relates to oriental culture – and of course lots of practical, step by step information on how to learn the physical movements of tai chi. The sequence of movements is called ‘the form’ and the Short Yang Form is the one featured in this book. Included in these pages, you will also find diagrams for feet placement, close up illustrations of hand positions, and detailed instructions on how to create the movements themselves. I hope you enjoy it. By the way, you can also find information on how to obtain audio and video cassettes to help you with your tai chi studies at the back of this book. So there is everything you need here to get started on your tai chi journey!
